When I turned 40 I started to realize that the line of work I was in for the past 20 years was not satisfying. I was looking for something that I was passionate about instead of a job I got up for every day and went to without joy or satisfaction. I wanted to help people but didn’t know how or what I wanted to do. A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to go to a health and wellness show and while there I spotted a reflexology sign and was drawn to it. I had a session and loved it. I went home and decided the next day that this was what I wanted to do. I had found my passion!
I have always had an interest in feet since I was a teenager living at home. Quite often I would massage my family’s feet to give them relief. Although massage is not the same as reflexology it still gave me the sense that I was really helping my family and making them feel better just by touching their feet.
I took the reflexology course in Grande Prairie, Alberta in January 2009 and became a Certified Reflexologist. I did 60 hours of practicum while working my full time job. The more I worked on people’s feet the more I realized how much reflexology benefited them and how much I loved helping people feel better.
I decided to move back to beautiful BC where I opened my own business doing Reflexology. My Reflexology instructor then approached me about doing Bowtech, the original Bowen technique. I researched it and found it to be the most amazing modality I had ever read about! I spent the next two years taking the Bowtech course and doing my practicum hours until I become a Certified Bowen practitioner.
The best thing I ever did was to attend the health and wellness show where I discovered Reflexology. That led me to Bowen which has allowed me to do what I am passionate about! I get up every day excited and ready to change someone’s life! I love helping people and I know that I am truly blessed to be doing what I love every day.
